Steel Echoes-Sherbert

An 11-inch square wall piece from the Steel Echoes series. Each work in the series is a variant of a visual representation of sound, then finished differently in color and patina.

Layered steel. The face is polished raw steel that layers over a painted lemon yellow steel frame.  The yellow paint is distressed, allowing the steel beneath to show through & contrasting against the polished layer above.   The echo is laser-cut in stacked layers painted in a gradient from bright lime to a glowing orange.   Bolts stay visible.

Made to hang. Meant to be kept.

11 × 11 inches. Steel and hardware. Wall mounted. Indoor.

Each piece in Steel Echoes is one of a kind in color and finish. This one is Sherbert.
