Undercurrent follows one current across three squares of steel. Waves of pink, teal, and blue wind around a channel of polished silver, like the pull that runs beneath the surface of moving water.

Every layer is steel. The frame is left raw and rusted, while the wave layers are polished and finished in automotive candy paint, so the color shifts and glows as you move past it. The hex bolts holding it together stay visible. The construction is never hidden; it's part of the piece.

  • Set of 3 square panels, each 10.5" H × 10.5" W × under 1" D (two layers of steel), about 2 lbs each
  • All steel: a rusted steel frame with layered polished steel waves in automotive candy paint, joined with hex bolts
  • Each panel has a cutout on the back with a slot in each direction, so it hangs on a single nail or screw, in a row or stacked vertically
  • Each panel is signed and dated on the back by Amber Klinsky
  • One of a kind. Hand-finished color and rust mean no two pieces are alike.
  • Made by hand at the Refinerii studio in Southeast Texas
